Hey guys! It's that time of year: Voices!
Voices is a publication the LCC puts out every semester that is a collection of student writing that is like a magazine. I know many of you would like to see some of your writing in Voices this semester!! If you would like to be in Voices, you need to post your paragraphs/writings ON THIS POST! Also, any photographs you have to share would be appreciated.
Topics? Anything! Here are some suggestions:
Things I wish my English teachers knew...
Culture Bumps...
Favorite Field trips (Ren Fest, Museums)...
Favorite Activities (The Halloween party, Sports Tournament)
Favorite Holidays (Ramadan, Thanksgiving, Autumn Festivals)...
Experiences with family and friends...
Now, I will edit your submissions and turn them in... but that is not a guarantee that they will be put into Voices. That is up to the editors- but you are all SUCH amazing writers, I hope you will all give me something to put in Voices!!
When I came the America I was really excited because it was the first abroad experiment for me. I did not know what can I do, because everything was different for me. For example cars, foods, buildings, machines, people and daily life. I just wanted to learn to English very quickly. Because if I cannot speak, I cannot learn nothing. When I moved to the University of Houston`s campus I saw a lot of student and they have spoken English very well. I tried to meet with them and I did it. But I just could talk Daily conversations after that, I was choked up while talking. But I tried every time and I did not give up. For example if I have some word while the people was talking something I was repeating and I tried to learn it. I was joining all of activities and got new friends . I definitely have not spoken my mother tongue I have tried to think in English every time and I have wanted dream in English if it possible. Right now I am getting better I have improved my skills step by step. And I believe I can learn English very well in short time…
